JP LeBlanc

JP LeBlanc is an award-winning Canadian blues artist from Bathurst, New Brunswick, whose music bridges the rich traditions of Acadian culture and the deep roots of American blues. Growing up in both French and English communities, he discovered the blues at age 11 and quickly developed a reputation as a gifted guitarist and songwriter. By the age of 16, his exceptional guitar playing had earned him the nickname "the Baby Stevie Ray Vaughan" from CBC Radio, highlighting his remarkable talent and early impact on the Canadian blues scene.

Today, LeBlanc is recognized as one of Canada's leading contemporary blues artists. In 2024, he proudly represented Atlantic Canada at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, the world's premier blues competition. His career achievements include winning an East Coast Music Award for Blues Recording of the Year and receiving two nominations at the Canadian Blues Music Awards, solidifying his reputation on the national stage. His latest album, All In My Blood, is his most personal and ambitious work to date. Recorded in Nashville under the direction of Grammy Award-winning producer Colin Linden, the album features acclaimed Cajun musician Steve Riley of The Mamou Playboys. Blending blues, swamp rock, and Cajun influences, All In My Blood reflects LeBlanc's Acadian heritage while embracing the sounds of Louisiana that have long inspired his music. KAYO

“I want people to feel something when they see or hear me. I find myself through music. It’s saved my life. I hope that my music can do the same for others. If I can touch even one person’s life in a meaningful way, then I’m fulfilling my purpose.  ”

Kayo Guevarra (né Filbert Salton) was born and raised in the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.

Kayo describes his sound as ‘Future meets Fugees’. It’s a lush blend of hip-hop, R&B and Reggae; a raspy delivery mixed with unique cadence, catchy melodies and a certain rhythm that could only stem from his island upbringing.

Inspired by the likes of Bob Marley, The Fugees, Kardinal Offishall, 2Pac, and Jay-Z, Kayo began honing his talent through poetry at the age of 14.

Eventually, Kayo turned his poetry to songs. Music quickly became a part of his identity, as he feverishly pursued his career as an artist. He had his first big performance at the St Lucia Jazz Festival, and a hit single on the airwaves in 2007 with a local Jazz band called Sisterhood, followed by his first solo break out record -, Endless Summer. He continued to collaborate throughout the Caribbean with dancehall and soca artists, until he realized that he needed more. Kayo soon decided that if he wanted to create a life for himself and his family through music,  he’d have to leave his island home; even if for a while.

At the age of 20, Kayo moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia to study marketing at Saint Mary’s University, while simultaneously continuing to pursue music. He immersed himself in the local hip-hop scene where he met future mentor Classified. Class signed Kayo to a production deal via his imprint, Half Life Records, resulting in a licensing deal with EMI Music Canada. He then released ‘1 Night’, his first national single with Half Life/EMI - A club track about the beauty of women “and the insecurities they live with that can ultimately destroy them.”

That “sugar with the medicine” approach to songwriting is the basis for what Kayo’s music is all about - creating a uniquely potent and penetrating sound while penning songs with substance and purpose - Music that makes you feel something. 9 albums, 7 cross country tours, several songwriting credits, film and television placements later, Kayo is still paving his way to being one of the most prolific artists of our time.

Israel Olatunji better known as F$rgo is a rapper from Ekiti State Nigeria. Born and brought up in Lagos state, F$rgo started his music career in 2017 with some roommates in Bells University, and was able to hone his art using makeshift studios. He is one of the pioneer drill Nigerian artiste and was recently awarded “Emerging artist of the year” at the Annual ANSMA Award shows for 2023. F$rgo has released his debut EP “WELLS F$RGO” and 3 singles which have amassed a total of over 130k plays across all streaming platforms.

Toronto Blues Society referred to Jon as, “Hybrid between Elmore James & Sonny Landreth.” Jon Hines is a Cape Breton based blues artist, debut band record at number two on the Canadian top 50 Roots Music Reports, and remaining in the top 10 for 19 weeks and peaking at number 1 in Canada. Charting on the top 40 in UK IBBA. “Memphis Sun” is nominated for blues album of the year “Docs Blues Awards” and “Best Self Produced CD” from the Blues Foundation. A two time winner of the Maritime to Memphis Blues Challenge, three time ECMA nominated artist, winner of Music Nova Scotia Blues recording of the year. Casual Cries for Help

Forged in the fires Halifax Open Mic and Karaoke scene, a group of misfit musicians were thrust together by circumstance and jammed live on stage.
Realizing they had something special, they decided to form a killer sounding pop rock band straight out of the early 2000s with infectious melodies, beautiful harmonies, funky basslines and never-ending good times.

They have been described as MICHAEL JACKSON and INGRID MICHAELSON joined the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and have played all over  Eastern Canada. They've played countless music festivals including NXNE (North by North East), Nova Scotia Music Week, The East Coast Music Awards and The African Nova Scotia Music Awards. They released their debut album, BEEN A MESS/STILL A MESS on July 10, 2024, produced with the help of Mike Farrington Jr. of The Mellotones, Ocean Floor Studios, and Joe Bozzi of BGM.

They are currently working on their second album, "The Quiet Loud" set to come out  in 2027.

Coyote

Coyote is an indie pop/rock band hailing from Charlottetown, PEI. Known for their meticulously well crafted live performances, they’ve showcased at events such as Rifflandia Festival (BC), Harvest Jazz & Blues (NB), East Coast Music Week, Canadian Music Week (TO), NXNE (TO), The Evolve Festival (NS), and Halifax Pop Explosion (NS).

Over the years, Coyote has shared stages with the likes of Stars, Tokyo Police Club, and The Barr Brothers. Their sophomore EP Proof of Life, produced and engineered in Prince Edward Island with Colin Buchanan, was released in September 2014 and went on to win Pop Recording of the Year at the 2016 East Coast Music Awards, as well as Group Recording and Pop Recording of the Year at the 2015 Music PEI Awards.

Most recently, on October 24, 2025, Coyote released their new EP Hope You Feel It, drawn from recording sessions originally begun in 2016. This time capsule of songs marks a new chapter for the band, signaling their return to both the studio and the stage.

Mat Hughes

More than singer-songwriter and piano virtuoso, Halifax-based Mat Hughes is a storyteller and performer of unique magnetism who makes each audience member feel like they’re catching up with an old friend. From playing dive bars and DIY house shows to touring across Canada and gracing hundreds of stages in his home province—most recently, the release show for his latest EP at The Stage at St. Andrews in Halifax—he’s quickly made a name for himself as one of Nova Scotia’s most original talents.

For all its foot-tapping, hi-fi instrumentation and subject matter liable to make you laugh out loud—from hot garbage to a bird flown headfirst into a window—Hughes’ third EP “South-Facing Dumpster” may at face value feel like a lighthearted pop album à la John or Joel. Upon closer listening, Mat's juxtaposition of upbeat melodies and wry, metaconscious lyricism exposes both the absurdity of our contemporary moment and the all-too-human ways we cope with it. Going for a walk to ward off the doom; sticking your head in the sand when the truth is too hard to swallow; mistaking light pollution for a sunrise. These songs teem with the platitudes of a thinly veiled nihilism, each terse line a live wire straight to the vein.

A cohesive continuation yet refined departure from his previous releases, “South-Facing Dumpster” asks what programmed motions steer us through an often-unforeseeable future; how the sun persists in its orbit despite all odds. And how on a road leading nowhere, full of streetlights illuminating nothing, we somehow find a way to enjoy the drive.

Billy Raffoul

Last summer, Billy Raffoul set out to reveal two sides of the same soul, releasing a pair of full-length albums that mirror both intimacy and magnitude. The first, Billy Raffoul, arrived on July 18 as a hushed, acoustic meditation on connection-born from a transformative journey through South Africa and shaped by songs that affirm, challenge, and gently push beyond boundaries. Just weeks later, on August 15, he returned with When I Cross The River, a gritty, rock-leaning counterpart-songs forged in the studio and built to be played at full volume. Chris Murphy

Chris Murphy has been in the band Sloan for over 30 years. Chris got into the super group game in 2015 when he formed a trio called TUNS (rhymes with buns) with Matt Murphy (Super Friendz/The Flashing Lights) and Mike O’Neill (The Inbreds). Now on a supergroup kick, he formed Trans-Canada Highwaymen in 2017 with Steven Page (ex Barenakedladies), Moe Berg (The Pursuit of Happiness) and Craig Northey (Odds). Then in 2018 some of his other musician friends were complaining they weren’t in a super group so Chris went ahead and agreed to make Anyway Gang with Sam Roberts (Sam Roberts Band), David Monks (Tokyo Police Club) and Menno Versteeg (Hollerado). Please don’t ask Chris to form a group with you. He doesn’t have time. What little time Chris has left over has been earmarked for solo shows where Chris plays songs and tells stories accompanied by acoustic guitar.

Haley Blais and Sam Lynch unite as True Mountain Laurel, a supergroup born from late-night harmonies, voice memos, and friendship. Noah Malcolm

Noah Malcolm is a queer folk and pop artist from Prince Edward Island, and winner of four Music PEI Awards and a 2025 East Coast Music Award. Rooted in a classic singer-songwriter style, he expands with multi-genre facility, playing deftly on acoustic guitar and piano while singing with impressive range, dynamic and nuance. Signed to CYMBA Publishing, he's collaborated with noted creatives like Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams, Kyle Minogue), David Archuleta (American Idol), Satch (Kate Nash, Låpsley), Kellie Loder, and Jennarie. Over 2024-2025, he played from coast to coast in Canada and released singles like 'Cereal', 'Goin' Thru It' and 'This Kind of Love', the latter placed in a Hallmark film. They built off of the successes of his 2020 EP 'On Time', upbeat bops like ‘January’ and 'Feel the Same', and heart-tugging ballads like 'If I Could Hug an Island' and ‘City/Country’. After his inaugural UK tour, in 2026 he begins the rollout of his potent 'God Man' album with the title track.

Tyler Salsman is a young Country singer/songwriter hailing from Chester Road in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Tyler's love of country music came from spending time with his grandfather in the Valley and listening to Country classics on AVR. 

At 6'2” with a Country stage presence and a deep soulful voice it is easy to understand why many are comparing him to Country Stars like George Canyon, George Strait and Toby Keith.

Ella Parker

Ella Gunning Parker is a young singer-songwriter from Halifax NS. She started her musical journey through musical theatre at age 6,
and started writing songs at age 12. Ella studied voice with then Halifax based musician Jessie Brown. For the last number of years she has
participated in the local Summer Rock camps gaining performance experience. She has performed in an acoustic duo at markets and restaurants around Nova Scotia for the past 3 years. She has participated in singer songwriting showcases at different festivals around NS and at private corporate events.

Her first single “Grey” was released in May of 2023. That single had Ella advance to the semi-finals in the 2023 International Songwriting competition in the teen category. A number of her songs have held the #1 spot on the local radio CIOE East Coast Top 30. Ella plans to release her 1st full length album in the next year.

Chloe Eden

Chloe is a young singer/songwriter based in Fall River, Nova Scotia. Chloe has been interested in music from a very young age, she started music lessons when she was 6 playing the fiddle, she played for many years, then 4 years ago she started voice lessons, as well as learned to accompany herself on the piano. She also has been in 2 rock band programs which helped her get exposed to new types of music as well as gain experience performing at places like recitals, local talent shows, local festivals and even The Carleton a handful of times. Chloe started writing songs about a year ago and her love for songwriting grew very quickly, so she is very excited to share her songs with everyone.

Alaina Manalo

Alaina Therese Rosales Manalo was born in the Philippines and grew up in New Minas, NS. Her passion in music and the arts emerged at a young age, and continues to explore her creativity. Growing up in a music orientated family and setting helped her develop an interest of writing her own music at the age of 10, along with performing in musicals, and expressing herself through poetry. Her musical journey began at the age of three when she started singing, and she has since continued to explore various instruments such as the guitar, piano and ukulele. 

Earlier this spring, Alaina won first place in the Battle of the Bands showcasing her original song, "Growing Pains." Ever since, she has been giving more local performances. Currently, she is now working on her debut single, "Wanna Be," in her home studio which will be released towards the end of this year.

A near thirty-year veteran of performing, record-making & touring, Mick's music trek boasts of alliances with Steve Van Zandt & opening dates with KISS, The White Stripes & The Psychedelic Furs. As a guest musician, Mick has performed on stage with Big Sugar, Sloan & The John Prine Band. Mick is the recipient of numerous MusicNL & ECMA awards. In 2025, Mick earned MusicNL's prestigious Ron Hynes Songwriter of the Year Award & a SOCAN No. 1 Song Award for his composition, "Vibrations". He lives in St. John's, NL.

Skye Wallace

With a voice like a soaring instrument, unflinching lyricism, and a swaggering live show shaped by years on the road, Skye Wallace is a force on a mission to celebrate life and welcome everyone in on the immersive experience. 

If you’ve had the opportunity to see Skye and their band perform live in the past several years, you’ve likely noticed hints of heavy, grungy jams – these influences get to be fully realized in The Act of Living, perhaps no more so than in the title track, where Wallace utilizes every end of her impressive vocal range, from low grumbles to banshee wails, claiming the tag line “Life is a death cult.”  In true Skye Wallace fashion however, you still find tender acoustic moments with heartbreaking lyrics and her signature emotive vocals, perhaps no more effectively than in “You Don’t Still Have A Hold On Me”, a song eulogizing Wallace’s own anxiety, or in “Round Round Round” as she recounts a car accident in which she and her mother barely escaped death. But just when you think you’ve got the album figured out, a curveball like “Before the Afterlife”, with its twinkling synths and ethereal harmonies, shows up and whisks you away like a nostalgic memory of a moment in life where everything was peaceful.

Jah’Mila

Jah'Mila makes music that is grounded in culture, identity, and purpose.

Born in Jamaica and based in Nova Scotia, Canada, she has developed a distinctive voice that moves between reggae, soul, and contemporary roots music while remaining firmly anchored in storytelling and social advocacy. Her work explores themes of belonging, resilience, and collective care, drawing from both personal experience and broader social realities.

Following the national success of her JUNO-nominated debut album Roots Girl, Jah'Mila continued to expand her artistic reach with Woman of the Sun, a release that received Grammy consideration and further established her presence across Canada and on international stages. Alongside touring and recording, she has collaborated with orchestras, developed educational programming, and become an advocate for cultural learning through music.

For Jah’Mila, music is more than performance. It is a vehicle for building community and creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and connected.
