Named by Rolling Stone Magazine as a new artist you need to know, Makayla Lynn has already earned herself 9 major award nominations, including 3 ECMAs and 5 Music NS nods, all before she was even old enough to drive. Winner of the 2018 ECMA Country Recording of the Year and the 2017 Music Nova Scotia Country Album of the Year, Makayla boasts more than 1 million video views from 50,000 social media fans. Recently hitting #1 on CMT’s 12 pack countdown, the Taylor Guitars artist plays more than 100 shows a year in front of crowds as large as 30,000. From major country music festivals across Canada to iconic venues such as The Bluebird Cafe, the teen’s stage show ranges from intimate songwriter circles to fronting her own band since the incredibly young age of 12. Graduating high school one year early, Makayla is currently splitting time between Nova Scotia and Nashville being mentored by some of the best in the industry, and will soon make the move more permanent. Having already proven herself a successful singer, songwriter and performer, 2017 found Makayla adding producer to the list, taking the reins alongside Smith Curry (Kid Rock, Taylor Swift) on her latest project recorded at Reba McEntire’s Starstruck Studios, “On a Dare and a Prayer” which went on to win multiple country album awards and songwriting nominations.
